Violette Bakers is a dedicated gluten free, mostly organic, full service bakery in Cambridge. Everything is made from scratch: savories (pizza, calzones, empanadas, crostini, quiche, pot pies), breads (sourdough, challah bagels and more), cakes, cookies, bars, tarts and pies. Our menu changes weekly with seasonal offerings. We use fresh fruits, edible flowers and seasonal vegetables in almost everything we make. We use no chemical dyes and hand-mill much of our own flour. We even make our own vegan cheeses! Violette Bakers is truly a bakery for everyone to enjoy. Many of our customers are not gluten free. Owner, Leesteffy, has celiac and her goal was to create a product so high quality and indistinguishable from a gluten based equivalent, that no one needs to know it is gluten free. At Violette Bakers, our motto is if it tastes gluten free we don’t sell it!
We are a dedicated Gluten Free facility. We use no soy and no corn based products. We are not a nut free facility and use pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds. peanuts and peanut butter.We aim for a product that’s not just “good for gluten free,” but rather, that’s just plain good.
Violette Bakers is also a hub for refugee and other civic minded activities. Come taste our delicious good-for-you food, and while you’re here, pick up a gorgeous colorful basket, a beaded bracelet, purse, or stuffed animal beautifully handmade by some of the poorest people in the world. 100% of proceeds from refugee-made items goes back to the maker.
