Happy Memorial Day! Beautiful weather. My roses are beginning to bloom. By next weekend i’ll take a video of pandemic garden year 1 and year 2. I think you will be amazed. It also means we can resume fresh organic flowers on cakes! 🎉 (The photo is of Dahlias which are not yet blooming, but i started them indoors very early this year, so by July, we should have Dahlias. Rununculus and Freesia, as well! )
Pie season starts this week with Strawberry Rhubarb (DF) and Blueberry (Vegan) pies. Pie flavors will change throughout the month, but we will post changes.
The menu for the month is up. Father’s Day specials are DONUTS, Boston Cream Pie and Strawberry Sponge. Order early please, as we’ve been cutting off cake preorders early. And both you and Dad will be sad, if you don’t get these special things.
We will continue to be closed on Tuesdays for the month of June AND we will be closed for TWO weeks this year for vacation. We close June 26, reopening July 12th. So make sure you stock up on all your favorite things.
I can’t urge you enough to GET YOUR ORDERS IN EARLY. The early bird will get the cake. We are swamped with people asking us to make last minute items or items not on our menu. At this time, we can’t accommodate ANY last minute orders. If you place an order and don’t IMMEDIATELY get a Text message with your order number (and an email receipt) you need to assume your order did not go thru. Don’t wait until you are past the order deadline to ask if your order went thru, because if it hasn’t, we can’t accommodate you. Please TEXT the STORE, or if we are CLOSED for the weekend, EMAIL immediately if you place an order and don’t get that text message. (No one is at the store to answer texts when we are closed.) If you don’t get a response, email us again because sometimes emails go to spam. If we’ve seen you’ve done everything possible to get our attention within the order time frame, we will do our best to assist. We can only assist if notified within the order time frame though. We are sorry that we can’t accommodate last minute requests, but we are short staffed and busy, and we must plan ahead to stock the store and meet orders. We will try to make more store cakes to have on hand, for those who just can’t preplan special events. Please remember, regular orders need to be in 2 days before at noon. Cakes 3 days before. Last week we had special last minute requests for weddings, graduations and birthdays. Please, these are events that dates are known well in advance, so please preorder, so you are not disappointed (or get angry at us and scream on the phone so loud that all the staff can hear.) Because 100% for sure, we will have to say no if not within the order time frame. There is no chance of getting a last minute order at this time.
Deliveries are Thursday and Friday late afternoon only and Sat. We’ve opened the app for those three days, but please do not request an early delivery on Thursday or Friday. The delivery people can not accommodate. Like everyone, they are short staffed.
