Where does the time go? We are already half through August! Anyone else feel like time has sped up? Maybe its our collective wishful thinking of a time, in the not too distant future, when things will be better on so many fronts.
Don’t forget we are doing a social media campaign (mostly Instagram). Post a photo of your recent purchase and get entered into a drawing to win a prize. This month the prize is 4 donuts, next donut day.
If you bought scones this week, you might have noticed they were slightly different. We used a new method to create both a flaky and tender scone. We were happy with the results. We get asked for scones a lot at the window, so we are going to try to have them more often, even if we don’t put them on the menu. One benefit of coming to the window is you get to buy things that we don’t otherwise put on our menu.
The Saturday Special is Cinnamon Rolls, plain or with candied pecans. We are going to experiment with a rolled version this week, in addition to our regular version. I’ll be trialing the new version during the week and if they turn out we will make a batch for Sat, so two kinds of Cinnamon rolls to choose from. Our regular Cinnamon roll is probably a bit less sweet than the rolled ones. But stay tuned.
Pie (DF or Vegan) Pie this week is Mixed Berry, Cherry Rhubarb, Or Blackberry . Mostly with crumb but a few with crust. The small vegan pies are Mixed Berry, Cherry-Rhbarb or Peach, all with with crumb.
Bread (DF or Vegan) is Sourdough, plain or with Olives (Boule or square loaf) and Teff Bread. Bread is available this week Weds-Sat. Tuesday we will have Challah, as usual.
Pastry will include our cream puffs, Strawberry shortcake and our fresh fruit lemon curd tarts.
Tea Bread (DF) is Blueberry Lemon, plain or with walnuts. We will have Lemon Poppy OR Cherry Crumb Muffins this week.
