You guys loved the cookie dough, so we will be restocking!

Chocolate Chip Walnut, Vegan Chocolate Chip with Coconut and Orange Zest, Peanut Butter, and Lemon Olive Oil are the four types we will have. We recommend you cross-hatch the peanut better and sprinkle with sea salt before baking. If you want to duplicate our lemon cookies exactly, mix lemon juice with powdered sugar. Beat until smooth. Heat a small amount in the microwave until hot and then drizzle. Heating the glaze makes it harden fast so you can stack or pack the cookies. The glaze will last for a month or more in the fridge. Each cookie dough log weighs the same as 6 of our cookies, and is 25% cheaper than 6 cookies.

We will also be making blank pizza crusts to sell for those of you who want to build your own pizza. Sold in packs of two!

Bagels and Pop Tarts this week!

Please get your preorders in for Bagels and Pop Tarts. Both offered only once every month, or so! Bagels are slow rise, NYC style sourdough. They freeze well.

Pop Tarts are Blueberry, Apple Cinnamon, and Chocolate Peanut-Butter.  They freeze well and are super fun and tasty.

Other Cost Saving Suggestions

Long before I opened Violette’s, I used to the buyer for  my town’s Buyer’s Club, which back then meant we’d order  organic and healthy food from UNFI, have delivery to someone’s house and then distribute everyone’s orders from there.  New buyers took over UNFI and  only wanted to sell to grocery stores like WholeFoods and Shaws. So that shut down a long tradition of cost saving organic purchasing in the New England region. But hark! I have found a new Seller that basically functions like a Buyer’s Club, cutting out the middle man and brining cost savings to consumers. I highly recommend Azure Standard. A family owned farm in Oregon, who turned natural health food distributor bringing bulk and specialty health foods to communities all across the nation. You order once a month and then pick up from your closest “drop” point, which for us in Cambridge is Woburn.

We bought all of their cleaning products last month, after watching a video about the products. The video was not social media sleek, it was two older men talking passionately about why one (a former chemical engineer) had developed the products.  And we couldn’t be more happy with these products. They clean well and we feel certain they don’t contain the chemicals in some of the “natural” products sold in the grocery store.

You can buy everything that you can get at the grocery store from Azure Standard.

I actually ran into a Violette customer when i went to Woburn to pick up last month, and we both said it would be great if others joined too, and we could take turns making the drive to pick up.  If  interested,  let me know. I’ll keep track of what towns people live in  and put you all together. Violette’s could be a drop off place when other’s pick up the orders for Cambridge and Surrounding towns.

Store Changes

You all seem to be loving the store changes that allow you inside and to pick some things out for yourselves. So glad we made this transition! We will continue to be closed on Tuesdays until we have more robust staffing.

We’ve changed the preorder deadline for most things to 24 hours, with our order platform closing at noon each day. Special Occassion cakes still need 2 days preorder.

Remember, having Customers Preorder is our Goal

At the window, the only things one will be able to buy is cupcakes, cookies, bread, savories and Saturday Specials. Some items, like pastry, will only be available one Saturday a month, or for large catering orders. Many cookies at the window will come pre-packaged in larger quantities.

Deadlines:

Deliveries are Thursday – Sat. If you want a delivery on Weds, please email us so we can ask the driver.
