People are definitely back in the Party mood based on the number of party cake orders we had last week. It all seems so odd, doesn’t it, to see restaurants full and people walking around without masks. There were a lot of things I personally liked about the pandemic, that I wish were not going away. I didn’t feel the need to keep my house as tidy. I dressed like a slob every day. I stopped wearing makeup and covering my gray. I didn’t need to obsess about sunscreen because my face was mostly covered. And I felt I walked around in stealth mode because no one recognized me with my mask on. With nothing else to do, i was able to create two fabulous gardens. The avalanche of party cakes reminded us that life will carry on as it was before, and i am personally sad to lose some of the benefits we gained.
But life goes on, and so does bagel week! Always best to preorder as they typically sell out fast each day.
While i’m on the party cake cake topic, the week of June 14th we aren’t accepting any party cake size orders and are limiting cake orders. So if you know you want a cake that week, best to preorder now. Our cake decorator will be on vacation and we are down a baker, so it is me and our baking assistants doing everything that week.

I ate a Strawberry-Rhubarb pie last night for dinner and it was delicious. We also have Blackberry-Blueberry. Next week i plan to make Cherry-Rhubarb, which is my ultimate favorite.
