What’s New this Week!

It’s Bagel Week.

This is the one week of the month you can stockpile our delicious sourdough bagels. They come in 5 flavors. They freeze well. We make them the traditional NYC way. The dough  slow rises for a minimum of 24 hours. Then they are shaped, left to rise again. Then boiled and baked at 400F. They are soo000 good and freeze well.

No More Thursday Donuts until Sept!

With students gone and summer generally being slower in terms of sales, we’ve decided to stop Thursday Donuts until Sept. For those of you who come every Thursday for donuts, we apologize. But we’ve seen a drop off in customers coming in for donuts on Thursdays the last two weeks. Donuts are very time consuming to make, and hence costly to make, and we need consistent volume to make them.

We also get asked a lot if we can make donuts for a special event. Sure! Minimum order is 36 donuts, which you can split into 2 flavors.

Donut Day (Sat June 21) will come early this month. Due to our end of the month travel schedule to France!  But we have a fantastic lineup.  Leesteffy often trolls the internet looking for taste sensations offered in the gluten eating world. And when she came across the beignets at Fortitude Bakery in London, she was determined that we make one similar for Gluten Free Peeps. Hence our Tiramisu Donut which will be filled with an abundance of cream like Fortitude (or think Korean style milk donuts.) We are offering these dairy full and dairy free.  Sign up now as there will be a limited supply!

Treats we brought back from France.

Include: Bulk Organic Chocolates. Don’t forget we have bulk chocolate from france: Dark Chocolate covered Almonds and Hazelnuts, and Milk Chocolate covered Almonds. But as little or as much as you want. And our French HONEY is back in stock. Lastly we have about 12 flavors of French teas to enjoy at the bakery! Come in for a slice of cake and some french tea and honey!

We have loads of Fresh Organic Flowers.

These are lovely on top of cakes! Think wedding or any occasion!

Gluten Free Baking Class

Our French class is now full! We and our students are really looking forward to this exciting trip. Happening in just a few weeks. We have students from as far away as Alaska! As well as a student from Portugal and 3 local french people will be taking the class as well. So it will be an international affair! We will be sure to post lots of photos.

We’ve  been asked by a number of people if we can hold the same classes at the bakery. If you’d like us to do a class, please  have at least 8 people who want to take the class, and then contact us with your class suggestion and proposed date. We can only hold classes on Thursday evenings starting at 6 or on Sat afternoons starting at 2.  Minimum class size is 8. In the shorter time frame, we can’t be as in depth in each class as we will be in France. But you will still learn good skills. People  who have taken our classes in the past, have been very happy with what they’ve learned. Hope this helps!

Our Focaccia that Diana made is so good, we are going to occasionally sell it at the store. But soon, we will launch our Bake it Right series on Instagram with a how to video and recipe. So you can make it at home. Stay tuned.

Don’t forget, we sell our sourdough starter (freeze dried) and even our bread flour, for you to start your own Sourdough Mother.

Saturday Special  

Pop Tarts! Strawberry, Mixed Berry and Apple! Just like you ate as a kid, but no chemicals, organic fruit and healthier. They freeze well.

Don’t forget our BAGEL SANDWICHES. Be one of our regulars who come in EVERY SAT. for a bagel sandwich! Jala is a master at developing awesome sandwich flavors. Come on in.  We have a monthly rooster of rotating sandwich flavors, Dairy, DF and vegan!

Weekly Bread

This week it is Bagels and   CHALLAH.   The Challah is soft and fluffy just like wheat based egg bread.  Preorder, or take your chances in the store. Bulk bagels should be preordered.
