What’s Baking, Week of March 24th

How is everyone holding up? Stress levels are high, so make sure you treat yourself kindly. Now that we’ve had a week in our newly organized space, we are feeling good. A bit stressed as we are understaffed, but generally good. We are starting to assess whether and how we can deliver to house bound people. This will entail hiring someone to deliver, so before we do, i’d like to get a sense of how many people need/would like delivery, even if there is a delivery fee? The fee will depend on how many people in your area order on the designated day for that area. It is just to cover our delivery costs. Can you please email me at info@violettegf.com if you would be interested in delivery once every 10 days to 2 weeks? We have staff who lives out in the Framingham area, and other staff that lives in Saugus, so the towns around/on the way to those areas are definite possibilities. Really, we haven’t excluded any area, it really depends on demand.

I know it is hard to think about a holiday during this crisis. but Easter and Passover are coming up. Rather than fancy Easter Basket cakes, since people aren’t socializing, we were thinking of pies.   (Ours even taste good for breakfast as they aren’t too sweet!) Our crust has no leavening (baking powder, baking soda, or yeast.) Would pies be appropriate for Passover too? We are thinking Lemon, Cherry Chocolate Pecan, and Ricotta.  Let us know what you think. We are also considering some kind of strawberry and cream kind of cake. And of course, there will be chocolate options.

If you’ve become food insecure, we are donating food each week to the Food Bank run out of St Pauls Church in Harvard Square. We’ve asked them to designate it for GF people. So consider that food bank if you need it.

Please designate CURBSIDE if you want that service, so i send you an online invoice to pay.
