Thanksgiving is upon us! Orders due by the 19th!

This year, everyone seems in the travel mood, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have your favorite Violette Baker’s Thanksgiving food. Our pies travel very well — trust me, i’ve traveled with them overseas plenty of Thanksgivings! I carry them in a cloth shopping bag on board with me. It’s not any different than carrying your own GF to eat on board, and i’ve never found that they count my food as one of my carry on bags. Staff might show some interest in your delicious looking pies, but that’s about it.

Other items that travel well are the pumpkin bundt, our cookies, particularly the Zimtstern, and one layer cakes like the orange almond and flourless chocolate. I typically take a cooked pizza with me to eat on board, because I never can eat plane food. No matter what I choose, it always has something I can’t eat in it. Since often there is nothing I can eat at airport kiosks, taking my own food is a must! Particularly for a long flight, or one where there is a layover. Nothing worse than being stuck in an airport because of delay and having nothing but potato chips you can eat!

Our Thanksgiving Menu isn’t available for pick up until starting on the 18th. But if you want a pie before then, just go to Pies and Bars on the order app and order a pie that way.

Thanksgiving week we are open Monday 11-6, Tues 10-6 and Weds 9-3. Then we are closed until Tuesday, November 29th so that all our staff can travel home for the holidays, too.

Delivery

After 2.5 years, our delivery service has gone on to greener pastures and a new adventure. We are trying a new delivery person, who is a taxi driver I often call to take me to the airport. Fingers crossed, he works out. He said he will be picking up orders by 11 at the latest, so expect your deliveries earlier than they have been.

It’s shaping up to be a great group of people attending. Some time after Thanksgiving, but before the Christmas rush, I will be organizing a Zoom meet and greet and answer session for those who have signed up.

Saturday Special This week

The Saturday special this week is Sweet or Savory Brioche. These freeze well. So easy to take them from freezer and pop in microwave for 30 seconds. It recreates a fresh out of the oven feeling. Preorder or come to the window on Sat morning to purchase.

Deadlines:

Deliveries are Thursday and Friday late afternoon only and Sat. Please do not request an early delivery on Thursday or Friday. We can ask, but typically, the delivery people can not accommodate an earlier time.

General notes: If you are trying to call us and we don’t answer, send a text if it’s during regular business hours.
