What’s New this Week!

If you loved our Soft Pretzels, get your order in or come early on Sat! Its our Saturday Special this week.

We ran out of bagel sandwiches early on Sat, and have decided they are so popular we will offer the bagel special sandwiches every Sat for now.

Pies and more Pies! Come on in and taste our  Pumpkin Pie. Or preorder one.

Pumpkin Pie (DF)

We roll out all the pies we will offer for Thanksgiving so you will know which is your favorite before Thanksgiving!

Weekly Bread

Six Seed and Grain (DF)  and Sourdough (vegan).  Our Six seed bread is like a hearty wheat bread. We don’t often offer it, so come in and try a loaf. The Sourdough, of course, is one of our most popular breads. We actually can make it with various methods, which i’ve demonstrated this week with friends here in France. A local mother daughter pair is excited about coming to the class to learn this and our Pumpkin Bundt cake, which tastes like a much better (moister) version of Pain d’Epices. Everyone literally could not stop snacking on it, whether gluten free or not. I baked it in a rolled log for easy slicing. Yum.

Making Progress on Arrangements for a second GF Baking Class in France!

We have the same caterer lined up, sans one. But with the addition of Julie’s husband, who is a professional cook as well.

In May I had contacted a location purporting to be a castle.  So i drove over there last week, to find that they are out of business, and it isn’t a castle, but rather a hameau of homes clustered together. I spoke with the current owner and she said the new owners are renovating for 1 year and  might be turning it back into regular 10 houses to sell. The upkeep is expensive, and the tourist season is short. And whoa nelly, they had a donkey track for a road, so i can imagine the upkeep is  costly. And honestly, it was not any more quaint than St Bresson. True they have a big pool, but they don’t have a giant pizza oven being built on the terrace next to where the class will be held. And there aren’t any neighbors, and the people in this village rock.

5 people have already committed to the class, without me having published it yet. And we are limiting size this year to 20. (We had 33 last time!)  So once i figure everything out and post, if you really want to participate, please sign up.

We are trying to have all the participants stay in St Bresson this time. Which means staying in homes that aren’t normally organized as BnBs. Several have to-die-for views. We got 2 more houses (4 more bedrooms) after a dinner party the other night. The people in the village are very kind, and for many they are second homes.
