Dairy free vanilla cupcakes (the frosting isn’t DF!)
NOW AVAILABLE (!), DF vanilla cake/cupcakes! I’m sending these puppies out to my testers, but i think this version is as good or better than my dairy-full version. So light and tender! Now, if i could only come up with a substitute for butter in my buttercream. . . . (the buttercream on these cupcakes is NOT dairy free, just fyi).
I’m going to make french macarons for Easter/Passover. Definitely:
- Salted Caramel
- Bittersweet Chocolate with Fleur de sel chocolate chips and a chocolate shell. (DF)
Does anyone want fig? (DF)
Then I’m trying to decide betweeen:
- Hazlenut praline
- Orange flower, ginger & rose macaron (an Hermes recipe.)

I was just notified that pans are back-ordered until Friday. Challah will be on the menu NEXT week. And this week, i’ll bake brioche rolls instead. Brioche rolls are $3 each.

Hope everyone enjoyed the snowy day. After shoveling, and more shoveling, i sat in my chair for awhile and watched the snow fall into the space i had just shoveled. There must be a life metaphor somewhere here!

My pizza crust is made with the same sourdough starter as my bagels, which gives the crust an authentic, chewy-crusty mouth feel! I leave the dough to rise for 10 hours to give it great flavor and its chewy crust.
I tend to like simplicity: cherry tomatoes, olives, cheese and greens thrown on top when it comes out of the oven. Sometimes i’ll put roasted parsnips on top (super yummy) or other such unusual pizza veggies.
