Bad News, and Looking for Someone to Help.

Dear All

I have some bad news. I have a  rare form of cancer. This means that after this week,  i’ll largely be out of pocket at the bakery for the next few months while i undergo treatment. This will impact our operations because we are already short staffed, and also our front of house staff is  young and needs to be supervised.  Our bakers will have their hands full without me being there to help. We will do the best we can. The alternative is we close until I am better.

The number one complaint I get is missing items from orders. This is maddening because we have protocols for 2 staff to check each order, but lately, it continues to happen. So for the foreseeable future, customers will be required to check their order BEFORE leaving store to make sure it is correct. That way if something is missing, staff can fix the problem right then. Once you leave, we won’t be responsible for missing items. The young front of house staff, who packs the orders, will not have the same level of oversight I give when i’m there. I’m sorry for this inconvenience, but I get very stressed when people contact me about missing items, and I can’t be stressed while i’m fighting cancer.

A few older people have stopped in and said they had been thinking of applying, but for one reason or another hadn’t. We are looking for someone, 45 years or older, to work Weds-Friday afternoons-evenings to mostly supervise the younger employees and make sure the tasks they know to do, get done, and in a timely manner. (The bakers usually leave by 4 or earlier.) Hours are flexible, but must be available at least 4-7. Email me please if this is something you can help with for a few months. Info@violettegf.com

Thank you for your understanding.
