What’s Baking, Easter and Passover week

See This Week’s Menu Here

We have so many yummy things this week, including small portions for those isolating solo. We will do deliveries this week Thursday, Friday and Sat. Passover deliveries will have priority on Thursday. Please see here and here for instructions if you intend to order delivery, curbside or simply are asking to prepay when you come to the window.

Now on to the yummy part of the week: Cakes this week are Strawberry shortcake (with whipped cream or DF), Lemon curd vanilla cake with lemon buttercream (DF available), French Apple (DF) (a  holiday special that our customers love!) and two cakes that are passover friendly: Flourless Chocolate and Orange Almond. Also, while pies are not a traditional passover food, our pies (and crust)  have no leavening and hence are Passover Safe.

Pies are Cherry, Lemon (specify crust or meringue on top), Banana Cream, Chocolate Pecan (all dairy free) or Ricotta. We have small and regular size pies. Truthfully, our pies are not too sweet and are a great breakfast choice.

Special cookies include Zimstern (chewy almond that taste a bit like ginger cookies, but there is no ginger) and Sugar cookies. Both DF and both in the shape of Chicks or bunnies. Zimstern are another customer favorite for the holidays and they are also Passover Friendly.

And this week is also DONUT week! We are doing deliveries on Sat so people who can’t do curbside can still have donuts.

Tea bread is Banana-peanut butter with or without chocolate chips. (Its a decadent week– but you deserve it!) Muffins are raspberry-blackberry with or without pecans.

Bread is Challah or Sourdough plain or with Rosemary. Bread can be preordered at least 24 hours in advance for Weds-Sat, or you can come to the store and try your luck.

BTW, while many of us at Violette Bakers are highly intuitive, we are not minder readers. If you want delivery, you need to tell us your address at the time you order please. We are short staffed and it takes us a lot of time  for us to reach out to you and then to go back to orders to fill in details. Thanks!

One of our customers, Laura Clawson, Started a GOFUNDME for our food insecure customers. Please consider donating HERE. Every time we give food for free to food insecure customers, we will send the receipt to Laura. We anticipate that our donations will exceed our GoFundMe, but the GoFundMe helps us give more, and given that our sales are also down, it helps. (Don’t get me wrong, we are very thankful we have business when so many have none!) We are donating to a food bank in Cambridge as well. So cost sharing of food to the food insecure is helpful.

Reminder, we have challah every Tuesday  and then our bread of the week Weds-Sat.  No preorders of challah on Tuesday, its first come, first serve. Please remember we cannot accept phone requests to hold bread, any day of the week. If you can’t make it in early, please Pre-order  by 12:00 noon the day before.

Note, we have three customer parking spaces marked behind building right next to alley with BIG orange signs. You can’t miss them.

General notes: You will get a confirmation once we receive your order.  You will ALSO get an Auto Ping back that just gives you basic info about ordering. That is not your confirmation.  Order here

We need 3 days notice for Frosted Cakes (not including Sunday and Monday when we are closed–Thanks for understanding!) See cupcakes flavors for Frosted Cakes flavors this week. (DF buttercream pre-order options also listed below. Vegan Cakes need 1 week pre-order.)
