We will have loads of Valentine Specials for Self-Love, Friend-Love, Romantic-Love, Kid-Love, Family-Love. The commercial focus on Romantic Love for Valentine’s Day creates a lot of sore hearts in my opinion — whether because you don’t have a romantic partner, or because your romantic partner is forgetful or thinks a toaster is a romantic gesture (Yes, a toaster can be a romantic gesture for the right person!) I say, unshackle from the commercial Valentine’s spin, and let it just be a week of Love. Do what you love. If you love flowers or chocolate or desserts, buy yourself some –don’t wait to see if someone will give them to you. Be your own love empowered self.
And btw, we have you covered for lots of LOVE treats. We are gearing up to be Love Elfs. COOKIE-WISE, We will have 2 kinds of decorated DF Heart Sugar Cookies, and two decorated Vegan Sugar cookies. (4 designs in total–we’ve spent all month planning out the designs!) We will have our beloved Valentine’s sandwich cookies with 70% organic chocolate ganache filling (DF) or Raspberry French Buttercream. Half dipped in chocolate. And a Lintzer style vegan cookie with raspberry jam. I’ll post photos early this week! CAKE-WISE, we will have our dairy filled Strawberry vanilla sponge cake (various sizes, including personal –for your self love celebration) and a DF Chocolate Lovers Roll with DF salted caramel (tinted pink with our organic food based colors). And even though i don’t like to compete with our many local candy makers, we decided to make Vegan Organic Chocolate truffles this year, because in my search for even DF truffles/chocolates in past years, i’ve had a hard time finding any from local candy makers. So voilà, we will fill the niche until a local candy maker does. (Yes, we try to stay in our lane, so all small businesses are supported!)

Sat Special is Pop Tarts (Vegan) –Blueberry-Blackberry, Strawberry-Rhubarb, Turtle (chocolate with pecan and salted caramel drizzle.)
Bread is Sourdough (Vegan) and Challah (DF), loaves and rolls
Tea Bread (DF) is Strawberry with walnuts or chocolate chips.
Pot Pies are generally available in Small and Medium sizes. The medium we consider to be “man size” or a two person meal, if light eaters and having salad etc. Pot pies come in Chicken (always organic free range), Veg, and Vegan. The difference between the Veg and the Vegan is the crust. Vegan crust has no egg and is made with flax seed instead. Our pot pies are otherwise, dairy free.
