We were burning the candle at both ends, so this rest has been great. My creative juices are flowing again! While we never closed during the pandemic, I think those who did have time away from work have realized that time off is critical for one’s mental health. I hope this issue is addressed by our National policy makers/politicians soon. Everyone needs time to rest and relax, and frankly, one week off a year/at a time from one’s job isn’t enough. That’s barely enough time to rest, forget about rejuvenation. This needs to be part of the national debate.
We are organizing a week long Gluten Free Baking Class!
We’re excited to announce we are beginning to organize a gluten free baking class in France! We anticipate this time next year. School is out and high season travel rates haven’t yet kicked in. This, of course, assumes no Monkey Pox epidemic, and people are interested in travel/learning.
The class will take place in the small countryside village of St Bresson. The village rises 7 km above the famous Valley of the Vis, which is in South West, France. It is accessible from Montpellier (MPL) and Marseille (MRS) airports or fast train from Paris to Nimes, and then bus. Accommodation (houses, Gites, and rooms in homes) will be offered, depending on participant’s budget preference. This is the very initial planning stage, but if you are interested, please let us know by emailing info@violettegf.com. We anticipate that some participants will travel with non-cooking travel-mates, and plan to organize other activities accordingly.

Our garden is in full bloom. Even some of the Dahlias are blooming already. And the Freesia were just about to bloom when i left. We’ve been candying flowers like crazy to stock pile for when gardening season is over.
Saturday Special:
The SATURDAY SPECIAL this coming week is Scones. Rejuvenation has made me ambitious so we will have Raspberry-Mint, Blackberry-Lime, Peach Cobbler, and Corn, Chèvre and Chive Scones for pre-order and walk up. Scones are one of my personal fav, and I can’t wait.

Deadlines:
ORDERS MUST be in 2 days before/3 days for Frosted Cakes. Our order platform closes at noon each day.
Deliveries are Thursday and Friday late afternoon only and Sat. We’ve opened the app for those three days, but please do not request an early delivery on Thursday or Friday. We can ask, but typically, the delivery people can not accommodate.
