Smart Choices, Good Results
First, thank you.
Many of you stepped up this past week and supported the bakery, and we truly appreciate it.
We know many of our customers are feeling the same financial pressures we are. Wholesale food prices have increased dramatically over the last year (hence the term “The Clover Effect”), yet we have not raised our prices in over a year.
A recent cake order reminded me that there is usually more than one way to solve a problem.
A customer had a special event coming up. They wanted a three-tier cake, needed it to feed a large number of guests, wanted custom decoration, and had a firm budget.
Rather than saying no, we worked together to find a solution. We made each tier three layers instead of our usual four and simplified some of the design. They got the size they needed. We stayed within their budget. We got the order.
Everybody won.
I think that’s how communities get through difficult times. We help each other find solutions.

Last month’s Dixie sales helped a rescue organization we work with save two baby goats who lost their mother at birth. When the call came in, they were able to answer because of your support.

We’ve already sold out of two varieties, and inventory is moving quickly. If you have a favorite, now is a good time to stock up.
Leesteffy won’t be heading back to France until late fall, so once we’re out, we’re out for a while.

The roses are still blooming beautifully, the dahlias are beginning to open, and the lilies are next in line.
