What’s Baking, Week of March 18th (Donut week)

What’s New this Week!

It’s Saint Joseph’s Day on Weds, and we are celebrating  by making Zeppole donuts, which are filled with pastry cream and Amarena cherries from Italy. For those of you wondering (like me) who Saint Joseph is, he is the “husband” of Mary and the “legal” father of Jesus, according to Google. And so it’s like a religious version of Father’s Day. Whether you celebrate or not, you must taste the zeppole donuts, which are fantastic. We will have them Weds by preorder or Walk in. And then again, for DONUT DAY on Saturday.  We are having donuts on Wednesday this week, instead of Thursday.

Easter and Passover menus. We will shortly be posting our Easter Menu. If you have a hankering for something, please email us ASAP to see if we can put it on our menu. Ditto Passover, which is before Easter this year.

Coop Shopping is one way to save on your Grocery Bill

We’ve been using Azure for about 5 years, but we are turning to them in a much bigger way to supply the bakery with everything from Chocolate, to Nuts, organic fruits, toilet paper, [aper towels, compostable paper plates and other items. Even garden plants and organic fertilizer. To name just a few. We find them more affordable, and since many of their items are farm to table, better than buying from big corporations.

You place an order online with Azure, and they will deliver it to Cambridge (near Alewife shopping center) once a month. No membership fee. No minimum order. No obligation. You just order when you want. If you can buy bulk, that’s where you get the best deals. In our current economic and political climate it doesn’t hurt to stock up on basics to hedge against a recession, should one be upon us! Register here. Order whenever you want. Violette Bakers is the Coordinator for this drop. Drop Name: Cambridge MA Community.

Our Gluten Free Baking Class in France.

The villagers are super excited about our upcoming class. They were so very welcoming to the students last time, hosting a welcome party. This year they are building us a stone pizza oven!! When i say this is a once in a life time experience, i’m not fibbing. You will you feel at home and welcomed in the small village of St Bresson (30440 — there are two St B, north and south!). You will make friends who may stay your friends for years to come. You will learn how to make awesome Gluten Free food. You will be spoiled by our terrific chefs who will be making all our meals. Not to mention, escape the daily bombardment of frightening news. Decompress your mind, emotions, soul. Who knows, maybe you will decide never to come home.

We still have a couple spots left. If you want help finding affordable flights, contact Leesteffy at info@violettegf.om.
