Sorry for the delay in getting the menu out! In my opinion, the one good thing about the pandemic is that i’ve learned how important it is to have a few days every few weeks (at least ) where I have real down time. No To Do List, no packed agenda for the day, just a day to do nothing in particular. Yesterday was that for me, and Sat I was too busy making donuts to do the menu. So here we are! A Monday menu.
We are starting Fall flavors this week. First up is our pumpkin bundtlettes, which our customers love! (Goodbye angel food, hello bundtlettes!) We will also have small apple pies (as well as blueberry). For those of you who are planners (and who plan on writing to ask when we will have. . . ) we will have pumpkin tea bread with or without chocolate chips starting the week of Sept 15th. That week we will also have large and small Chocolate Pecan Pies. Followed the week after by Pumpkin pies. So there is your line up. I have three items i’m trialing starting this week so stay tuned. All classic favorites that many have asked me for. I won’t spill the beans until/unless I can perfect them. But if I can make a Violette version (so good that anyone can eat it and enjoy — not just good for GF) you all will be the first to know. Lol, the mystery.
Rosh Hashanah (Sept 18-19th) is creeping up. Please get your orders in. We will be making Round Loaves by PRE ORDER ONLY. Either Raisin or Plain. I’m also trialing an Apple Cake recipe from an old Washington Post article that claims to be “the best”. When i’m converting recipes i do a lot of research, study the ingredients and method, before choosing the version I will try. I will try it this week before putting it on the menu for next week. There will also be Apple pie, which isn’t “Apple Cake” but it *is* apple.
Don’t forget to post your Social Media photos on Instagram and Facebook. Post a photo and comment of your recent purchase (in a sharable format!) and get entered into a drawing to win a prize. Please make sure you do it in such a way that we can add it to our Story.
The Saturday Special is Sweet or Savory Brioche. These pillowy danish like delights are a customer favorite. The freeze extremely well and can be taken from the freezer and popped in micro for 45 seconds and they taste oven fresh. Perfect for a quick breakfast or a student lunch. Both Sweet and Savory come in a full dairy and dairy free version.
Pie (DF or Vegan) We have an assortment of pies this week. A few Shaker Lemon, with crust. Some Raspberry-Mango and Mixed Berry for the large pies. The small vegan pies are Blueberry or Apple, both with crumb.
Bread (DF or Vegan) is Sourdough with Rosemary and Challah (both loaf or rolls.) Bread is available this week Thurs-Sat. Weds we will have Challah.
Tea Bread (DF) is Blackberry-Lime, plain or with Walnuts. We will have Peanut Butter with Chocolate Chip Muffins and Raspberry muffins with chocolate chips or walnuts this week.
