I want to thank most of our customers for being extraordinarily kind, thoughtful and understanding. We greatly appreciate your generous ongoing support, and it’s for you that we work so hard to provide an excellent, healthy, organic product. There are a number of people, however, who make me want to throw in the towel.  Seriously, please remember that those of us who stayed open the whole pandemic to feed people, despite gross shortages of staff and supplies, are tired. The short burst of hope we had this summer for a return to  normality was crushed by the Delta variant. We don’t want to be subjected to your hissy-fits.  It you have the slightest propensity to be a Karen or even a mini-Karen, go elsewhere.  We have no control over the fact that we often can’t get paper bags, despite paying 150% more now than pre-pandemic for bags, boxes and other paper goods– a good proportion of which come broken/unusable. If you don’t think of getting a cake for your parents 56th wedding anniversary until a half hour before the dinner, don’t feel justified getting snippy at the window and writing a negative comment because its the end of the day and there is no one in the bakery to write on your store cake and we have no large paper bags. (Particularly, when we walked your cake to the car and gave you special celebration candles for free.) I’m beyond responding to this kind of behavior kindly. Additionally, although we are fully staffed now (hallelujah!) it takes several months for staff to become proficient, and more than half of our staff is brand new. So have mercy and patience, please, as they will make mistakes. Please check your orders when you come to the window to make sure they are correct. This will help eliminate disappointment on your end, and anxiety on mine.  Thank you!

Now is the time to order from the  Rosh Hashanah Menu. ALL ROSH HASHANAH items are by PRE-ORDER ONLY.  You will not be able to decide at the last minute that you want a round raisin challah or an apple-honey cake. We are going to assume that anyone that wants something for Rosh Hashanah will preorder.  So please get your orders in. Pick up is Friday and Sat, Sept 3-4th. We will be closed on Sept 6th and 7th (Tuesday).

Next weekend is also Labor Day. To help you celebrate we will have  Hot Dog and Hamburger Buns for preorder only for Friday and Sat. By the end of next week we will also have  Banana-Coconut  and Chocolate cream pies for the Labor Day holiday. And a customer favorite: French Apple cake!

Sat Special is Pop Tarts (vegan). Southern Peach, Strawberry and “Turtle” (chocolate filing, salted caramel drizzle and candied pecans.) These darling hand pies are delicious.

The Bread this week is English Muffins (Vegan) or Challah (DF) Loaves or Rolls.

Tea Bread (DF) is Peach Crumb or Peach Pecan. Muffins are Peach Crumb or Peach Pecan or  or Strawberry Lemon, with/without nuts. All DF.
