I’ve been thinking, okay worrying, a lot about food insecurity for people who have to eat gluten free. Trust me, i know what its like not to be able to eat because you can’t find food that is safe. I can’t eat most grocery store gluten free foods because they mostly contain ingredients i am autoimmune to (or they are gross.) And with so many people losing their jobs, however temporarily, it is about not being able to afford food that is safe. And while adults might be able to muddle thru eating non carb diet for a few months, its much harder for kids.
I would like to know how many of our customers are now food insecure, particularly food insecure with gluten free kids. Can you write me at info@violettegf.com and tell me if you are? Some small businesses have set up GoFund me accounts for their staff. We were already short staffed and then lost half of our staff to coronavirus attrition –students who had to leave university, mom’s who have to stay home with kids, etc. So we haven’t had to lay anyone off. So i was thinking we should do a GoFundMe for our customers who are food insecure now.
Let me know your thoughts, please.
